The Ferrari 488 GT3 has been slowed in the latest round of Balance of Performance adjustments ahead of this weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway.

IMSA has confirmed a reduced turbo boost for the Prancing Horse, across all RPM levels, along with a 2-liter fuel capacity reduction for the GT-only race.

It comes on the heels of consecutive GT Daytona podium finishes for the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari at Lime Rock Park and Road America.

The WeatherTech-backed car is the only Ferrari on the entry list for tenth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

No other BoP changes have been made to GTD, with GT Le Mans remaining unchanged for the third consecutive race.

18 Entries for VIR

A total of 18 cars are on the entry list for Sunday’s two-hour and 40-minute race.

While there have been no changes to the GTLM field, Mario Farnbacher is set to sub for Alvaro Parente in the No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3, alongside title contender Katherine Legge.

Bill Auberlen is set to return to the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3, while Gunnar Jeannette will be Cooper MacNeil’s co-driver in the Scuderia Corsa Ferrari.

Alessandro Pier Guidi, who teamed with MacNeil at Road America, is unavailable due to his FIA World Endurance Championship commitments with AF Corse this weekend.

The No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche, which was withdrawn at the last minute in the last two races, meanwhile, is not listed.
