Ashley Freiberg will complete Turner Motorsport’s eight-driver lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the BMW M6 GT3, the team has confirmed today.

Freiberg joins the full-season pairing of Jens Klingmann and Bret Curtis, and additional Daytona driver Marco Wittmann in the No. 96 BMW in the GT Daytona class.

“I really can’t find the words to describe how thankful I am for this incredible opportunity,” Freiberg said. “So many dreams of mine are all coming true at once.

“To be able to race in my first Daytona 24 Hour race, with a championship-winning team, with great teammates, in the new BMW M6 GT3 is just so exciting. It is an honor to continue my relationship with BMW of North America as a Scholarship Driver and with IHG Rewards Club.”

Additionally, she will compete in selected Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup rounds beyond Daytona.

Markus Palttala, Michael Marsal, Jesse Krohn and Maxime Martin will share the sister No. 97 BMW at Daytona.

“This is truly one of the best BMW driver lineups we have ever had,” said team principal Will Turner. “We are so extremely excited for the 2016 season and the 54th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“We look forward to getting this incredible amount of driver talent behind the wheel of our new BMW M6 GT3s for one of the biggest endurance races in the world, and with some luck, finishing toward the front of the GTD field.”

Freiberg co-drove with Trent Hindman in the No. 46 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3 in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season, and won the GS class season finale at Road Atlanta. She also was part of the winning lineup at the 2014 Continental Tire Challenge season opener at Daytona.

Hindman, another Silver-rated driver, is a past GS class champion (2014) and 2015 BMW Junior driver still seeking a ride for 2016.
