SpeedSource has ceased operations as a race team, with the Florida-based organization placing its equipment, including five race cars, up for auction later this month.

The Sylvain Tremblay-owned team, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2015, lost its factory Mazda prototype contract to Joest Racing earlier this year, leading to the discontinuation of its championship-winning operation.

It comes after a lengthy partnership with the Japanese manufacturer that delivered wins and championships, mostly in Grand-Am competition.

A Dec. 19 auction at its shop in Coral Springs, Fla. will liquidate its remaining assets, including two Lola LMP2 chassis, without engines, three Mazda6 GX cars, as well as well as a wide range of racing tools and equipment.
