Performance Tech Motorsports will run one man down for next weekend’s IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Driver Wyatt Schwab suffered a broken left hand after an accident while boating and has restrained use of his hand due to the cast he will sport over the next few weeks.

The 17-year-old is anticipated to make his return to the No. 18 Remedia International Inc. MPC entry by Virginia International Raceway next month, according to team principal Brent O’Neill.

“You hate for anything bad to happen during a season or at all,” O’Neill said. “Accidents happen though, and you can’t account for all of them.

“He’s a young guy, Wyatt will bounce back in no time. I’m sure he’ll put in the work on his sim and be ready for a fight at VIR. We all wish him well and will be happy to see him back in the No. 18 soon.”

Performance Tech will take a lineup of six cars to CTMP for Round 4 the IPC season.

Dr. Robert Masson is currently leading the MPC class and will return to widen his points gap. Steven Dawes and Howard Jacobs join Masson in the MPC class. Cameron Cassels is joined in the LMP3 class by the Charles Wicht Racing/Performance Tech Motorsports entry with Leo Lamellas.
