Twenty-one-year-old Hanna Zellers is set for her IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda debut this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, as part of Five Miles Out Racing’s lineup for the fourth round of the season.

Zellers will team up with open-wheel veteran Jay Howard in the team’s No. 87 Norma M30, as part of the team’s two-car entry that features Memo Gidley and team owner Charles Chi in the sister LMP3 contender.

While new to endurance racing, Zellers has enjoyed a diverse career including SCCA, Formula Atlantic and NASCAR K&N Series competition.

“I tested the Norma for the first time earlier this year and I felt very comfortable in the car” she said. “It responds well to what I ask of it and it’s very quick.

“This will be my first Prototype Challenge race, but I’m going into the series with high expectations and I hope to do my absolute best for my team and my fans.”

Chi said he was impressed with Zeller’s test at Road Atlanta.

“She is not only a competitive driver but also a natural ambassador for FMO Racing,” he said. “She is humble, genuine, and is a person who does not look for excuses and works hard. We are delighted that she is on the team.”

New, Returning Drivers for CTMP

FMO’s pair of Normas are part of a 16-car LMP3 entry for this weekend with several other notable driver changes since the last round at Barber Motorsports Park in April.

Trent Hindman will join Cameron Cassels in the No. 75 Performance Tech Motorsports Ligier JS P3, with IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge star Roman De Angelis in the No. 7 Charles Wicht Racing Ligier alongside Leo Lamelas.

De Angelis won the opening round of the season at Daytona in an ANSA Motorsports-run Ligier.

Garett Grist, meanwhile, has retuned to Extreme Speed Motorsports, replacing Ben Waddell in the No. 3 Ligier.

The No. 44 Ave Motorsports Ave-Riley AR2, which was present at Barber, is not listed to take part this weekend.

The MPC class, which features seven cars at CTMP, includes the previously announced addition of Kyle Masson alongside his father, Dr. Robert, in the No. 11 Performance Tech Elan DP02.

The 1 hour and 40-minute race is set for Sunday at 10:20 a.m. EDT with live coverage on IMSA.tv.
