While having originally been tabbed for driving duties in PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports’ Oreca FLM09, Tomy Drissi has instead joined Performance Tech Motorsports for the four-round Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup.

The road racing veteran will team with Raphael Matos, Gabriel Casagrande, Julio Campos and 2013 IMSA Prototype Lites runner-up Ryan Booth in the Florida-based team’s entry.

“I’m starting off at Daytona running in the Rolex 24, filling in for Charlie Shears,” Drissi explained. “Charlie’s on the mend and getting ready for Sebring. So, for me, this is a perfect way to kick off the year.”

Drissi will complete the three remaining NAEC rounds as the team’s third driver.

“The idea of incorporating four epic endurance races into the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup, especially on such legendary road courses, is nothing short of brilliant,” Drissi added. “It’s exactly what the sport needs and will really showcase sports cars and sports car endurance racing.”

The Brent O’Neill-led Performance Tech team broke through for their first PC class victory last year on the streets of Baltimore and are one of nine cars committed to the entire TUDOR Championship, including this weekend’s season-opening round at Daytona.
