JDC – Miller MotorSports has confirmed that 24 year-old Minnesota native Chris Miller will be one of their full-time drivers for the team ‘s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge program in 2014.

The team announced last week that it had submitted an entry and plans to run all Prototype Challenge races in 2014 except the season-opening 24 hours of Daytona.

Miller has a successful history with JDC MotorSports and their “Road to Indy” program, as he ran for the team in their F2000, as well as PRO Mazda programs in the past, including winning the F2000 Championship Series with JDC MotorSports in 2009, with an impressive seven pole position, 10 podiums, and four victories, claiming the overall driver championship that year.

This also earned him a Team USA Scholarship nominee that year, before moving to the Star Mazda Championship (now Pro Mazda) with JDC in 2010.

At the end of the 2010 season, Miller took a break from racing for three years to focus on school, but now returns to racing full-time with JDC – Miller MotorSports’ TUDOR United SportsCar Championship Prototype Challenge program in 2014.

“This is a dream opportunity, and I cannot wait to begin testing the car,” stated Miller. “During the last three years I have had to focus on school, but I kept in touch with racing and JDC as we ran select events with JDC MotorSports’ USF2000 and PRO Mazda programs during that time. The time off from full-time competition has made me more motivated than ever to make this season a success.”

Testing is planned to start for JDC – Miller MotorSports in mid-December, but this will not be the first time for Miller in a Prototype Challenge car.

“I had tested a Prototype Challenge car at the end of the 2010 season at Sebring, and I really liked it. So getting back in the car will not be totally new for me.”

“We are very excited to continue our relationship with Chris into the 2014 season and this new program,” commented team principal John Church. “Chris has been with JDC since 2008, and has always run well in our cars. We fully expect him to be competitive in our new SportsCar program as well.

“Since we don’t plan to run Daytona, it will enable Chris the opportunity to start testing right away, as well as some of the other potential drivers who have expressed interest in joining us for 2014.”
