The Asian Le Mans Series has received 15 entries for the upcoming 2018-19 season, already surpassing last season’s grid size.

This comes after entry announcements from United Autosports, Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen Racing and Eurasia Motorsport last month.

United Autosports is the largest team currently registered, with two cars each in LMP2 and LMP3, while Jackie Chan DC Racing x JOTA Sport has confirmed one car in each of the prototype classes.

Algarve Pro Racing and Eurasia Motorsport have also announced two-car prototype programs while Viper Niza and Team Virage will each run one LMP3 entry.

ARC Bratislava will return with its Ligier JS P2 Nissan in the amateur sub-class, meanwhile.

Tianshi Racing Team is currently the only GT team entered and is set to run a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3s under the Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia by TSRT banner.

The season gets underway at Shanghai International Circuit on Nov. 23-25.

Several other entries are possible, including the two Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen Ligier JS P3 Nissans which are understood to not yet be fully confirmed.

DC Racing could add up to two more cars, expanding to a four-car entry, with a third car expected to be confirmed “imminently”, while Team Virage is working on a second LMP3 entry.

These additions would bring the grid size up to 20 cars, which is the minimum target that Asian LMS Managing Director Cyrille Taesch Wahlen is confident of achieving, he told Sportscar365 recently.
