The pair of new-generation Aston Martin Vantage GTEs will head into this weekend’s Six Hours of Silverstone with a power increase, following Balance of Performance adjustments to the GTE-Pro class for the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The FIA confirmed Monday revisions to the BoP table, which wasn’t due to be adjusted until prior to the fourth round of the season under the auto-BoP method that takes into account results from the previous two races, excluding the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Both the Aston Martin and Ferrari 488 GTE Evos, however, have received adjustments for Silverstone.

Aston’s turbocharged V8 will benefit from a significant increase in turbo boost across all RPM levels, while a marginal increase has been allocated to the Ferrari.

Additionally, the Astons will have 5 liters of additional fuel capacity to take into account the increased power.

The changes come in the wake of a disappointing debut for the Prodrive-built cars in May’s season-opening Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, where the Aston Martin Racing entries finished fifth and seventh in class, respectively.

The British manufacturer will have a reduced two-driver lineup for its entries this weekend, with Darren Turner missing his first-ever WEC race and Jonny Adam reassigned to TF Sport’s Aston Martin entry in GTE-Am.

No BoP adjustments have been made to the GTE-Am class, meanwhile.

Porsche leads both GTE-Pro and GTE-Am standings following the German manufacturer’s double class win at Le Mans, with the No. 92 duo of Michael Christensen and Kevin Estre holding an eight-point advantage over second-placed Stefan Muecke and Olivier Pla, of Ford Chip Ganassi Racing.
