Paul Dalla Lana will return to the FIA World Endurance Championship with Aston Martin Racing, while also taking on the opening two rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with an Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 car.

Dalla Lana confirmed to Sportscar365 that he’ll be back for the full nine-round WEC season alongside Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda, a driver combination that claimed three GTE-Am class wins and four poles in the No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage V8 GTE car this year.

Additionally, the trio, along with AMR factory driver Richie Stanaway, will take part in both the Rolex 24 at Daytona and Twelve Hours of Sebring in an AMR-entered Aston Martin GTD car.

The single-car factory entry for the opening two Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup races appears to have confirmed IMSA and Aston Martin’s arrangement for the British manufacturer to be represented in GTD, after much debate.

Additional V12 Vantage GT3 entries are expected from TRG-AMR, although the Kevin Buckler-led squad has yet to confirm drivers.

2016 will mark Dalla Lana’s third consecutive season in the WEC, where the Canadian driver has routinely been one of the front-runners in the GTE-Am class.

AMR is expected to have a slightly reduced presence next year, with Roald Goethe not returning to the team’s second GTE-Am entry, with the possibility of a two-car effort in GTE-Pro instead of this year’s three.

Team principal John Gaw, meanwhile, has ruled out an AMR-run GT Le Mans effort for Daytona with its upgraded 2016-spec Vantage V8, which is expected to instead debut in the WEC season-opener at Silverstone in April.
