Erik Maris will complete Ebimotors’ lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, joining the previously confirmed Fabio Babini and Christina Nielsen at the wheel of the team’s Porsche 911 RSR in GTE-Am.

It will mark the Frenchman’s fifth start in the race, after failing to secure a return to the LMP2 ranks.

Maris, who raced at Le Mans last year in a Eurasia Motorsport-entered Ligier JS P217 Gibson, is taking part in this year’s European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport’s Ligier, also in LMP2.

“This will be my first participation with a GTE car,” Maris told Endurance-Info. “I’m happy, even if I would have preferred to do it on an LMP2, but I have not found a seat.

“I think this Porsche is a great car. I had the chance to finish the 24 Hours of Le Mans each time, crossing the finish line three times. If I can finish again this year, it will be perfect.

“I do not necessarily have an objective this year but I think that my two teammates have some and that they would like to be on the GTE-Am podium.”

Final Le Mans Seats Filling Up

Only a few seats still remain for the race, with the majority of to-be-announced seats on the entry list having already been set.

One of the lineups in Jackie Chan DC Racing Ligiers has been finalized and will feature an IMSA Prototype champion and a former GTE-Am Le Mans class winner in the OAK Racing-operated entry.

The full driving squad of SMP Racing’s Dallara P217 Gibson, meanwhile, has yet to be revealed, while Andrea Pizzitola is expected to complete the lineup in the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07 Gibson.

In GTE-Am, Proton Competition has yet to announce the lineup for its No. 99 Porsche 911 RSR, although Sportscar365 understands that reigning class winner Dries Vanthoor is likely to drive.
