G-Drive Racing is set for a further driver shakeup, with Pierre Thiriet to miss the final two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Endurance-Info has learned that the Frenchman will stand down from driving duties for the six-hour races in Shanghai and Bahrain, leaving the Russian-backed team without a confirmed Silver-rated driver.

The move follows Alex Lynn’s departure from the team last month, in order for the Englishman to focus on his new Formula E race duties with DS Virgin Racing, with James Rossiter having filled in for the Six Hours of Fuji alongside Thiriet and Roman Rusinov in the No. 26 Oreca 07 Gibson.

While Audi DTM ace Nico Mueller is set to join the team for next weekend’s Six Hours of Shanghai, it’s unclear who will take Thiriet’s seat for the two remaining races.

A reason for Thiriet’s departure is not yet been made clear.

The TDS-run operation has had an up-and-down season, with Rusinov, Lynn and Thiriet claiming LMP2 class victory in Spa, but yet to revisit the podium despite three class poles.
