GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS has announced its provisional 2021 calendar with a total of 10 events split evenly between the Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup series.

Following the shake-up of this season’s calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic, the next season of GTWC Europe is set to take on a more familiar format with five rounds each for Endurance and Sprint.

Endurance Cup is due to get underway in April with a trip to Monza, which returns to the bill after being replaced by Imola for the 2020 season opener.

There will then be two long-distance rounds in May including the Paul Ricard 1000km, leading into the Total 24 Hours of Spa headline event on July 29-August 1.

The Endurance Cup season will conclude at the Nürburgring – where GTWC Europe is racing this weekend – on an early September date.

Sprint Cup also features five rounds with Brands Hatch set to begin proceedings on the early May bank holiday weekend before visits to Zandvoort and Misano.

The dates of the final two sprints are yet to be decided, while Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been named as the site of the penultimate round.

The GTWC Europe meetings at Monza, Paul Ricard, Zandvoort, Spa, the Nürburgring and Barcelona will be supported by the GT4 European Series.
