IMSA has released the preliminary entry list for the season-opening round of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge at Daytona International Speedway.

The Daytona Rising 200, scheduled for Jan. 24, currently features a 64-car field, spread between the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Turner (ST) categories.

Twenty-nine GS cars are currently stated to take part, including notable entries from Turner Motorsport (BMW M3), Stevenson Motorsports (Camaro GS.R), Multimatic Motorsports (Mustang Boss 302R), TRG-AMR North America (Aston Martin Vantage), Fall-Line Motorsports (BMW M3) and defending class champions Rum Bum Racing (Porsche 997).

The 35-car GS class will see the return of the title-winning Burton Racing squad (BMW 128i), along with notable contenders CJ Wilson Racing (Mazda MX-5), Compass360 Racing (Honda Civic Si), Bimmerworld (BMW 328), Mitchum Motorsports (BMW 128i) and Team Sahlen (Porsche Cayman), which returns to its roots for 2014.

The Daytona round kicks off the expanded 12-round championship, which will support the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at all of the natural terrain circuits.

Additional headline events are scheduled for Lime Rock Park (May 23-24) and Kansas Speedway (June 6-7).
