Defending Rolex 24 at Daytona champions Action Express Racing, in the No. 5 Corvette DP, has stopped on track in the ninth hour to cause the seventh full-course caution of the race.

Joao Barbosa was behind the wheel of the car when it stopped on track exiting the first hairpin.

Per IMSA Radio, the car lost fuel pressure, and would not start. It is getting towed back to the pits and its repeat chances have taken a significant hit as a result of this incident, with the car having lost at least three laps.

Gary Nelson, AXR team manager, said the failure was caused by “a wire connector disconnected from the fuel pump.”

Ricky Taylor (No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP) leads overall, with remaining class leaders Antonio Garcia (No. 3 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R in GT Le Mans), Colin Braun (No. 54 CORE autosport Oreca FLM09 in Prototype Challenge) and Dominik Farnbacher (No. 93 Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper GT3-R in GT Daytona).

Just prior to the yellow, Garcia made a great move on Patrick Pilet for the GTLM lead, and shortly thereafter Braun passed Alex Popow in the No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Oreca FLM09 for the PC lead. Braun’s pass was into the Bus Stop chicane.
