BMW leads the Total 24 Hours of Spa in 1-2 formation with three hours remaining, at the front of a five-car lead battle as the Belgian endurance classic reaches its closing stages.

Both the No. 99 ROWE Racing and No. 34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3s pitted during the most recent Full Course Yellow, putting them off sequence.

The leading Walkenhorst entry pitted only halfway through its stint, but didn’t make use of its final joker pit stop.

It was followed in by the No. 99 ROWE BMW, which opted to split strategy compared to the No. 4 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 with which it was battling on track.

Both BMWs kept track position after their pitstop, just in front of the No. 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the No. 25 Audi Sport Team Sainteloc Audi R8 LMS GT3.

Tom Blomqvist is in the Walkenhorst car while Nicky Catsburg is driving for ROWE.

The lead battle includes the pair of BMWs, the Sainteloc Audi, Black Falcon Mercedes and Montaplast by Land Motorsport Audi.

Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP is seemingly out of the race after coming out of the pits a lap down on Walkenhorst, but it will have to serve an additional 15 seconds in its next pit stop for repeated track limits violations.

Rinaldi Racing leads in Pro-Am while the Lamborghini Huracan GT3s of Ombra Racing and Barwell Motorsport lead in Silver Cup and Am Cup, respectively.
