Road Atlanta is back on the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America calendar, with the home of Petit Le Mans confirmed as Round five of the championship.

The series will join HSR’s Fall Historics four-day festival on Sept. 23-26, leaving one remaining slot on the calendar for its season finale, which is strongly rumored to be the Creventic 24H Sebring weekend on Nov. 17-20.

The news coincides with the announcement that Sunoco Racing Fuels has been named as the official fuel of the series, and ‘Platinum’ will replace the ‘Masters’ moniker for the series’ fastest class.

Confirmed ahead of this  weekend’s season opener at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, the multi-year partnership includes a Sunoco Hard Charger award to be presented to the driver who makes up the most positions in each race.

The partnership extends beyond the track, and Sunoco’s 260GT blend has also been endorsed by Radical Sportscars’ UK engineering and development teams as the recommended fuel for its new turbocharged SR10 model.

With 425 bhp and 380lb-ft of torque, combined with the light weight and aerodynamic performance that has made the Radical name famous around the world, the SR10 is expected to dominate the newly named Platinum class.

“Platinum better describes the class which features Radical Sportscars’ fastest, most powerful and premium products, the SR8, SR10, SPYDER and RXC,” said Radical North America’s Tom Drewer.

“The headline class was never actually geared towards older drivers– ‘Masters’ was a tip of the hat to Radical’s famous European championship of the same name.

“In fact, all three classes in the Blue Marble Radical Cup have always attracted a mixture of young guns looking to make a mark, and extremely fast gentleman drivers, which is something we’re really proud of.”

After this weekend’s season opener at the Honda Indy GP of Alabama, the Blue Marble Radical Cup takes in a further five rounds and 15 races at world-class circuits including Road America, Circuit of The Americas and New Jersey Motorsports Park.
