Swiss squad Hofor Racing claimed victory in the Hankook 12H Zandvoort, leading a Mercedes top four in the third round of the 24H Series.

The No. 10 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of Christiaan Frankenhout, Kenneth Heyer, Roland Eggimann and Michael Kroll beat the No. 30 RAM Racing after a battle that went on for almost the entire second part of the race.

The lead swapped several times among Hofor Racing and RAM Racing, but the battle was decided by penalties, Code 60 pit stops and in the end a longer fuel stop for the RAM Racing Mercedes.

After 351 laps Frankenhout crossed the line in first place, finishing 74.810 seconds ahead of Paul White.

Five laps behind the race winner it was the No. 2 HP Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of Hari Proczyk that finished in third place, with Tom Coronel taking fourth place in the No. 67 GDL Racing Mercedes.

Best of the rest was the No. 4 Scuderia Praha Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, with Peter Kox taking fifth place overall for the Czech team.

The battle for sixth place overall and first in the 997 class, between the No. 52 MSG Motorsport and No. 20 MRS GT-Racing Porsche 991 Cup, went all wrong on the final lap.

Heading into Tarzan Corner for the final time Luca Rettenbacher and Charles Espenlaub hit each other, resulting in both cars coming to a stop before crossing the finish. MSG Motorsport was declared the winner some 40 minutes after the race.

Cor Euser Racing won the SP3 class with its Lotucs Evora GT4, MARC Cars Australia claimed victory in the SP2 class with the MARC Focus V8. Other winners were Bonk Motorsport (SP1), Team Altran (A5) and presenza.eu Racing Team Clio (A2).
