Free Practice 2 for the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai has been red-flagged following a massive fire for the No. 16 Black Falcon Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 with just one hour into the session.

The A6-Pro class entry burst into flames on its out lap and stopped on-track. Driver Patrick Assenheimer was seen climbing from the car under his own power.

The fire lasted at least 10 minutes, as fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

Assenheimer was due to share the car with Adam Christodoulou, Oliver Webb, Oliver Morley and 2015 Pirelli World Challenge GTA Champion Frank Montecalvo.
