Daniel Morad has parted ways with CRP Racing, with the Canadian electing to leave the Mercedes-AMG GT3 squad with immediate effect.

It comes amid this weekend’s penultimate round of the Pirelli World Challenge season at Utah Motorsports Campus.

In a post on Facebook, Morad has cited his current championship position as well as “conflict in timing” in his decision to concentrate on plans for 2019.

Morad currently sits fifth in the overall GT championship and sixth in SprintX, which concludes its season this weekend, following a challenging year that had been marred by multiple mechanical failures and pit stop miscues.

“I would like to thank Nick Short and CRP Racing for the opportunity to drive with them,” Morad said.

“I was able to learn invaluable lessons in a plethora of different situations, and that has made me a more complete driver today.

“Thank you to all the crew members and drivers I shared this car with. I know there were a few of you, but I appreciate each one of you and your hard work.”

No word has been given on CRP’s revised lineup for this weekend.

Matty Brabham, who made his team debut last time out at Portland International Raceway, is currently listed alongside Morad on the entry list.
