Despite a statement earlier today HTP Motorsport would run six drivers and two cars, a new release by the German team has confirmed a third entry for the 24 Hours of Spa.

As expected 21-year-old Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar will join 2013 race winners Maximilian Buhk and Maximilian Götz in the No. 86 Mercedes SLS AMG GT3.

Jaafar is part of the Petronas Talent Development Programme and is currently part of the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS squad, for which he has done an evaluation test, several demo runs and simulator tests.

“I look forward to the great opportunity that is offered to me from HTP and I will do everything to give them success,” Jaafar said.

“Through his formula career, we have become aware of him. It was only natural for us to invite him to the official tests at Spa, Norbert Brückner said.

“He convinced our engineers immediately by his enormous base speed. We agreed that Jazeman is a good choice for our team and he could get the job done, this certainly not too easy task ahead of him.”

The third HTP Motorsport entry will be run with assistance from Fortec Motorsport.
