Former Reiter Engineering works driver Peter Kox will be reunited with the German team next weekend, having agreed to race the team’s Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX in the Blancpain Sprint Series.

As reported last month, Kox and Reiter Engineering parted ways after a cooperation that lasted 15 years, but the 51-year-old driver will be back in action for the team at the third round of the championship at Zolder.

Kox will join Albert von Thurn und Taxis in the No. 88 Gallardo R-EX, replacing Nick Catsburg who is racing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship in Moscow that same weekend.

Back in 2010 Kox and Von Thurn und Taxis won the ADAC GT Masters title together, having already finished in second place in the 2007 season.

“Despite Peter being strongly engaged in his own motorsports projects he has agreed to driver for us in Zolder,” Reiter said. “Peter knows the Gallardo better then anybody else so we can hope for a successful weekend in the Blancpain Sprint Series.”
