Emil Frey Racing has confirmed it will enter its sole Jaguar G3 in the remainder of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, including the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The car, entered in the Silver Cup for Adrian Zaugg, Alex Fontana and Mikael Grenier, was initially slated to enter selected rounds of both the Endurance and Sprint Cups during the first half of the season.

This weekend’s Misano Sprint Cup event was set to be its final outing but the Swiss team, buoyed by success in the opening three Endurance races, has decided to run Spa and the three-hour finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Emil Frey picked up the Silver Cup win at Monza before scoring a class podium at Paul Ricard, putting the drivers third in the standings.

“We are very pleased to announce to all Jaguar fans, that we are driving two more races after Misano,” said Team Principal Lorenz Frey.

“Our team experienced many highs and lows in past years. This year, we have been consistently proofing the GT3 Jaguar’s performance. Of course, the Jaguar project with the custom-developed GT3 is close to our hearts.

“We are excited to hopefully show some further good races. The potential of the GT3 Jaguar was visible during winter testing and the following successes and good performances confirmed that.

“Therefore, we as a team have taken to the decision to also race at Spa and Barcelona. Especially the 24-hours of Spa will be a great challenge.

“Furthermore, we have good chances of ending the season in the Top-3 of the Silver Cup and this would be a nice farewell to the GT3 Jaguar.”

The car is expected to be retired at the end of the season with the team focusing 100 percent on its factory-supported Lexus RC F GT3 entries.
