Raffaele Marciello led a 1-2-3 finish for AKKA ASP in Saturday morning’s Free Practice session ahead of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The French team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3s took the top three positions in the 90-minute session with Marciello setting the quickest time of all, a 1:47.318 in his No. 90 Mercedes.

The Italian driver shares the car with Edoardo Mortara and Michael Meadows.

Jules Gounon had held the top spot for much of the session in his No. 87 AKKA ASP Mercedes running in the Pro-Am Cup but was eventually 0.297 seconds slower than the sister car.

The No. 88 AKKA ASP entry was a further two tenths behind while HTP Motorsport put its No. 85 Mercedes into fourth position.

Championship contenders Mirko Bortolotti, Christian Engelhart and Andrea Caldarelli had the fifth-fastest time in their No. 63 Grasser Racing Team car with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 the best-placed non-Mercedes in the field.

Kessel Racing’s No. 888 Ferrari driven by Jacques Duyver, Marco Zanuttini and David Perel topped the Am Cup classification.

The team’s No. 19 Lamborghini had a less successful session with a puncture while both the No. 114 Emil Frey Jaguar G3 and No. 55 Kaspersky Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 both had excursions earlier in the session.

Pre-Qualifying will take place at 4:40 p.m. local time.

RESULTS: Free Practice
