Longtime SRO America partner CrowdStrike will launch a new virtual experience for guests and fans for this weekend’s event at Sonoma Raceway.
The cybersecurity company, which is based in nearby Sunnyvale, Calif., has transformed its typical at-track guest experience into a live and on-demand content delivery service that will allow for behind-the-scenes coverage with its drivers and team.
As was the case in SRO America’s return to racing at Virginia International Raceway last month, this weekend’s event at Sonoma is taking place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to an out-of-the-box approach for CrowdStrike CEO co-founder George Kurtz.
“This is the most unique weekend for CrowdStrike that we have ever had,” Kurtz said. “Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic forced a break in our racing, we quickly began planning how best we can educate and entertain our clients and supporters in new and interactive ways.
“I think it’s safe to say that what we have planned sets a new standard in exclusive, interactive content anywhere in SRO’s global platform.
“We are excited and proud to be associated with this historic weekend at our home track in Sonoma.”
At the center of CrowdStrike’s virtual experience is an event-specific page that will offer a number of experiences including live streams of both GT World Challenge America powered by AWS races featuring special commentary with additional on-board footage of the No. 04 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Additional online content will include a tech talk with CJ Moses and Kevin Boehm, CrowdStrike drivers in TC America, race car walk-arounds, driver and team Q&A sessions, plus a downloadable coloring book.
CrowdStrike’s CXO Summits, typically held in-person trackside, will also go virtual, with a session set for Friday.
The discussion with CrowdStrike leadership will focus on how businesses can continue to remain secure both physically and digitally in a dynamic environment that is increasingly remote for many businesses.
