James Davison led the way in Friday’s second practice session at Circuit of The Americas, as Pirelli World Challenge teams prepare for this weekend’s season opener in Texas.

Davison reeled off a quick lap of 2:05.712 in his No. 33 Always Evolving Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, outpacing the No. 8 Cadillac ATS-V.R of Michael Cooper by 0.290 seconds.

Neither time was quicker than Patrick Long’s 2:05.574 lap set in the No. 31 EFFORT Racing in morning practice, which stood as the quickest of the day.

Long’s teammate, Michael Lewis, was second quickest overall, followed by Davison’s pace-setting time from second practice.

The No. 07 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Martin Fuentes led the way in GTA in both sessions, with his 2:06.114 lap from the morning being the quickest of the day in the class.

Sloan Urry was quickest in GT Cup, thanks to a 2:11.283 in his No. 20 TruSpeed Autosport Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, which was one of the few improvements made during the warmer afternoon session.

No major incidents were reported in either GT/GTA/GT Cup session today.

Qualifying is next up and is scheduled for Saturday at 9:45 a.m.
