Elghanayan Takes GTS Pole at Lime Rock

Nicolai Elghanayan earned his first career Pirelli World Challenge GTS SprintX pole, taking his KTM X-Bow GT4 to the top spot in qualifying for Monday’s Memorial Day Classic.

The MarcoPolo Motorsports driver recorded a quick time of 54.407 seconds in the session, bumping the No. 12 Ian Lacy Racing Ginetta G55 GT4 of Drew Stavely from the top spot with less than five minutes on the clock.

The No. 21 Muehlner Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport or Moritz Kranz qualified third, leading a sweep of the top three positions overall for GTS Am drivers.

Patrick Gallagher, in the Pro-Am class-entered No. 55 PF Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4, was fourth ahead of Randy Mueller in the No. 3 Epic Motorsports BMW M4 GT4, another Am class competitor.

Qualifying was split between two groups, with Staveley holding provisional pole during his session.

Race 1 gets underway Monday at 9:55 a.m. EDT, followed by Race 2 at 2:25 p.m.
