K-PAX Racing and Flying Lizard Motorsports have both completed new car rollouts ahead of next month’s Pirelli World Challenge season-opener in St. Petersburg.

The pair of California-based teams took to Sonoma Raceway on Tuesday to shake down its first Bentley Continental GT3 and Audi R8 LMS GT4 machines, which will compete in the GT and GTS categories, respectively.

Full-season K-PAX drivers Alvaro Parente and Rodrigo Baptista were at the wheel of the current-generation Bentley, which will part of a minimum two-car effort for the former series champions.

The team took delivery of three cars late last year, in what Bentley Motorsport director Brian Gush described as chassis with “varying ages.”

“They’re a proven team and have a great track record,” Gush told Sportscar365. “Darren [Law] runs a really good team; I’m impressed with the work they’ve done so far on the cars.”

Parente and Baptista will be joined by Bentley factory drivers Andy Soucek and Maxime Soulet for the SprintX weekends, with program manager Darren Law working on a potential third entry for the season.

First Run for Flying Lizard Audi

Flying Lizard’s first Audi GT4, meanwhile, also completed a shakedown on Wednesday, as the team ramps up for a two-car effort with the new GTS class contender.

Mike Hedlund and Adam Merzon have been confirmed as full-season drivers, with Ryan Eversley set to join Merzon for the SprintX events, which are new to the category this year.

The team had campaigned Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MRs last year with Baptista and Nate Stacy.
