Kyle Marcelli set the pace through the first two Blancpain GT World Challenge America practices at Sonoma Raceway, setting the fastest lap of the day by over two tenths of a second during Practice 2.

Marcelli piloted his Pro-Am class Acura NSX GT3 to a best lap of 1:38.501 to take the top spot for Racers Edge Motorsports.

Alegra Motorsports’ Wolf Henzler paced Practice 1 and ended the day second overall and first of the Pro class entries in the No. 24 Porsche 911 GT3 R with a best lap of 1:38.790.

Henzler’s teammate Daniel Morad was third overall in the sister No. 22 Alegra Porsche.

Patrick Long and Marc Miller completed the top five for Wright Motorsports and Gradient Racing, respectively.

The day was largely bereft of accidents until David Askew brought out a red flag that ended World Challenge America Practice 2 with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Askew nosed his DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 into the tire barrier on the climb up the hill to Turn 2 but walked away from the accident under his own power.

Qualifying for Race 1 is scheduled for 10:50 a.m. local time with Race 2 qualifying immediately to follow with live streaming coverage available on the series’ website.
