Alvaro Parente topped the time charts in an incident-filled practice session for Pirelli World Challenge SprintX competitors at Lime Rock Park.

The defending GT series champion reeled off a 52.019 second lap time early in the damp 40-minute session, which was interrupted twice for red flags.

First, the No. 077 Volt Racing Ford Mustang came to a halt on track, which was then followed by a heavy crash for the No. 31 TR3 Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 with 11 minutes remaining.

The session did not restart due to the Ferrari’s accident.

The TR3 Ferrari ended the session second quickest, 0.207 seconds behind Parente, with the No. 58 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, featuring reigning FIA World Endurance Champion Marc Lieb, fourth on the time sheets.

The No. 78 Bentley Team Absolute Bentley Continental GT3 of Andre Couto led the way in the GT Pro-Am class in fifth overall.

Qualifying for this afternoon’s 60-minute SprintX immediately follows.
