Alvaro Parente will start this afternoon’s Pirelli World Challenge round at Lime Rock Park from the pole, following a head heat in qualifying with Andrew Palmer for the 10th round of the season.

The K-PAX Racing McLaren driver reeled off a best lap of 51.950 seconds, the identical time Palmer’s No. 87 Bentley Team Absolute Bentley Continental GT3 set in the 12-minute session.

The pole was awarded based on the drivers’ second-fastest lap, which went to Parente with a 52.035 compared to Palmer’s 52.294.

The No. 58 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R of Patrick Long will start third, thanks to a 52.058-second lap.

Long seeks his third consecutive GT class victory after sweeping last weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and taking over the points lead.

Kyle Marcelli (CRP Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra) and Johnny O’Connell (Cadillac ATS-V.R) completed the top-five in the GT class.

Martin Fuentes scored his 7th class pole of the season in GTA, taking his No. 07 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 to a quick lap of 52.449 seconds.

Fuentes edged out Frankie Montecalvo’s No. 66 DIME Racing Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 by 0.199 seconds.

The No. 16 Wright Porsche of Michael Schein was less than three-tenths behind in third.

In GT Cup, Sloan Urry grabbed top qualifying honors, thanks to his 54.543-second lap time in the No. 20 TruSpeed Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.

Title rival Alec Udell will start second in this afternoon’s race, which gets underway at 4:55 p.m. ET, with live coverage on http://www.world-challenge.com.
