SRO Motorsports Group has established a track-specific Balance of Performance for this month’s SRO America season-ending round at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Issued to teams on Friday, the BoP for the GT3 and GT4 categories does not fall into one of the five existing BoP categories developed by the organization.

It marks the first standalone BoP to be issued in the North American series since the introduction of the so-called ‘Category H’ for high-altitude tracks that was utilized at Utah Motorsports Campus in 2017.

Category H joined Category A, B, C and D-based BoP tables but has not been in use since last year’s race in Utah.

Compared to the most recent round at Road America, which utilized Category B, the Las Vegas-specific BoP will see the Bentley Continental GT3 run 20 kgs lighter and the Ferrari 488 GT3 get a 10 kg increase in weight.

The minimum weights for both the Porsche 911 GT3 R and Acura NSX GT3 Evo, meanwhile, remain unchanged.

In GT4, the Sprint championship-leading McLaren 570S GT4 will be 5 kg lighter than at Road America, with the Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport shedding 20 kg but the Panoz Avezzano GT4 getting an additional 20 kg of weight.

The proposed Las Vegas track layout, which is expected to be made official during a final inspection by the FIA on race week, will be the second ‘roval’ layout to be used in a SRO-run series.

The British GT Championship previously raced at Rockingham Motor Speedway, which was classified as a Category D track.
