Thirty eight cars have signed up for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup season-opener at Misano, with no fewer than nine brands represented in the series.

The Pro Cup is once again the most populated class with 31 of the 38 cars battling for the overall honors; the Pro-Am Cup and Am Cup has attracted five and two cars, respectively.

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT will field six Audi R8 LMS cars, adding an extra car for René Rast and Will Stevens to its previously announced five-car roster.

ISR (1), Phoenix Racing (2), and Saintéloc Racing (2) will bring the total number of Audis up to 11 in total.

Bentley Team M-Sport enters two factory Continental GT3s, while ROWE Racing (2) and Boutsen Ginion Racing (1) represent BMW with three M6 GT3s.

AF Corse (2), Rinaldi Racing (2) and Kessel Racing (1) add five Ferraris to the grid, with AF Corse and Black Pearl By Rinaldi each fielding an 458 Italia GT3 alongside the brand new 488 GT3.

Grasser Racing Team and Attempto Racing have both entered three Lamborghini Huracán GT3s.

Garage 59 was confirmed with two McLaren 650S GT3, even though McLaren previously announced it would be a single-car effort.

HTP Motorsport and Team AKKA-ASP enter three Mercedes-AMG GT3s each, while Nissan adds two GT-R NISMO GT3s to the series.

Team A-Workx brings the total number of brands up to nine with a single Porsche 991 GT3 R.

SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stéphane Ratel set himself a target of 28 entries, but managed to attract a lot more cars than expected.

“I think we outperformed our wildest expectations,” Ratel said. “It’s a great satisfaction after many years of hard work. The series is getting more and more professional.

“We need stability. GT racing is about customer racing, and we don’t wont to see direct manufacturer involvement.”
