A-workx Wieth Racing will field a new Porsche 911 GT3-R in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup this season, adding yet another manufacturer to what already promises to be varied and healthy grid.

Wieth makes a return to racing after an absence of a couple of years. The German team is known for fielding a Porsche 911 GT2 and subsequently a Ferrari 550 Maranello in the FIA GT championship around the turn of the century.

Up until recently a-workx Wieth Racing competed in ADAC GT Masters. The organization currently specializes in the performance tuning of Porsches, BMWs, Minis and Ferraris.

Little is known about the program so far, the team will shortly communicate on the details of its presence in the Blancpain Sprint Cup.
