The No. 88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Tristan Vautier and Felix Rosenqvist topped the time charts at the end of the second 80-minute practice session for the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup finale at Barcelona.

Rosenqvist edged out Markus Winkelhock in the No. 6 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS by more than two-tenths, followed by the Audis of René Rast (No. 28 WRT) and Mike Parisy (No. 26 Sainteloc)

However, the Swede’s 1:47.340 was more than 1 second slower than Alessio Picariello’s time in FP1 this morning.

Maxi Buhk and Dominik Baumann were the first of the championship contenders in fifth (+0.452s), while Robin Frijns put the No. 33 WRT Audi of Sprint Cup points’ leader Enzo Ide up in sixth.

Following Steven Kane’s crash in FP1 this morning, the No. 7 M-Sport Bentley did not return to the track and has been withdrawn form the event due to the extent of the damage.

Another car to remain in its box was the No. 1 WRT Audi of Laurens Vanthoor and Frédéric Vervisch, their R8 LMS already lacked power this morning and the team is currently changing the engine.

Qualifying gets underway at 3:30 p.m. local time.
