Boutsen Ginion Racing will replace one of its McLarens with a BMW Z4 GT3 for this weekend’s Blancpain Endurance Series season-ending Nürburgring 1000.

The Belgian team has been competing with McLaren’s MP4-12C GT3 in the SRO series since 2012, but already indicated that it wasn’t very happy with the package.

The Olivier Lainé-led team wants to explore its options for next season and therefore decided to lease a BMW Z4 GT3 from Schubert Motorsport for the German finale, though the team could also still compete in the Baku World Challenge at the beginning of November.

The Ginion Group is the official McLaren importer in the BeLux, and also has a number of BMW dealerships in Belgium.

The No. 15 BMW will be entered in the Gentlemen Trophy for Karim Ojjeh and Olivier Grotz, while the No. 16 McLaren will remain in the Pro-Am Cup, with Chris van der Drift, Shahan Sarkassian and Alex Demirdjan behind the wheel.
