BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS ended the official test day for the Total 24 Hours of Spa on top, as Farfus’ 2:19.034 in the No. 45 Z4 GT3 from this morning remained unbeaten.

His teammate Maxime Martin came within a couple of hundreds of a second in the considerably hotter afternoon session, while the No. 63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán narrowed the gap to the leading BMW to just 0.109s.

The second Marc VDS improved from P6 to P3 (+0.324s), just in front of the Von Ryan Racing McLaren 650S GT3 that put in the fourth quickest time before calling it a day with an oil tank issue.

The No. 47 AF Corse Ferrari of Alessandro Pier Guidi and Gianmaria Bruni led the Pro-Am Cup standings, with the fifth time overall (+0.515s).

Audi kept itself on the background in the afternoon session with its top three cars not improving their time, the No. 1 WRT R8 of defending champions Laurens Vanthoor, René Rast and Markus Winkelhock lead the German contingent in P6 (+0.555s).

The first 12 cars remained within the same second, and no less than 35 GT3s posted a time within two seconds of Farfus’ 2:19.034.

The session was interrupted four times in the final two hours, though no cars sustained considerable damage.
