Marc VDS Remains Quickest in Spa Night Qualifying

BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS will be the last one out on track in tomorrow’s Super Pole session, as none of the other teams were able to beat Maxime Martin’s quickest time in night qualifying.

Audi Sport Team WRT’s No. 2 Audi R8 LMS of Stephane Ortelli, Nico Müller and Frank Stippler set the fastest time in night qualifying. Its fastest time of 2:18.608 was still 0.211s slower than Martin’s time.

The No. 6 Audi Sport Team WRT Audi R8 LMS and the two Von Ryan Racing McLaren 650S GT3s completed the top four in the night qualifying session, with the McLaren times enough to elevate them to 11th and 12th and into Super Pole.

GRT Grasser Racing Team was able to repair the damaged No. 19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in time for its drivers to complete the mandatory laps at night.

On the other side of the pits Audi Sport Team Phoenix also managed to fix the No. 5 Audi R8 LMS after its shunt in qualifying, which meant all 57 cars took part in qualifying for the 67th running of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Six Pro Am Cup and 14 Pro Cup cars qualified for Super Pole, with none of the three Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 and two Lamborghini Huracán GT3s making it into the Top 20.

The No. 47 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Alessandro Pier Guidi, Gianmaria Bruni, Pasin Lathouras and Stephane Lemeret, which had topped the Pre-Qualifying session, had several laps cancelled and finished outside the top 20 as well.

Super Pole will take place tomorrow, with the first car set to go out on track at 4:10 pm local time.
