After a full season in the European Le Mans Series and an entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Team AKKA-ASP will return to the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2015. (En Français)

Initially the team formerly known as SOFREV ASP tried to put together a program in the ELMS, but eventually they decided against it.

“There was a real desire to return to Le Mans. However, one of our partners left, which complicated the situation,” team owner Jerome Policand told Endurance-Info.

“2014 was a learning year for us in the ELMS. We’re not interested in doing the same thing in our second season.

“We looked for a solution until the end, but the only option was to enter the ELMS and Le Mans with a gentlemen lineup.

“However, it’s not out of the question to see the Ferrari 458 GTE return in the second half of the season. The car is ready to go.”

The squad already confirmed it will enter three Ferrari 458 Italia GT3s in the French GT Championship for former Formula One star Olivier Panis and French soccer star Fabien Barthez amongst others.

The international part of French team’s program will consist of the five-round Blancpain Endurance Series.

“The objective is to enter two Ferraris or even a third. Our lineups are not confirmed yet, but it would be logical to see two cars in Pro-Am and one in the Gentlemen Trophy,” Policand said.

“We’re very familiar with the series but we’re not expecting an easy challenge.

“Our only frustration is not being able to mount a crew for the Pro-Cup, even though we still might do a one shot.”
