Mirko Bortolotti has put the No. 16 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 out in the lead in the opening hour of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The Italian held a one-second lead over the No. 50 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 of Alessandro Pier Guidi just prior to the first round of pit stops at the one-hour mark.

Rene Rast led from the green but fell back to third on the restart from the race’s first Full Course Yellow, appearing to have gotten caught out by the resumption of racing.

The No. 28 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT Audi R8 LMS runs third, as a result.

The yellow, for the No. 333 Rinald Racing Ferrari 488 GT3 of Marco Seefried, who spun and beached his Am Cup entry.

It allowed four of the six Mercedes-AMG GT3s to serve their five-minute stop-and-hold penalties under the caution, only losing a single lap each, as a result.

All six of the Mercedes were handed penalties and had to start from the rear of the Top 20 field due to a homologation issue found post-qualifying, and announced Saturday morning.

The No. 74 ISR Racing Audi of Franck Perera is out front in Pro-Am Cup, with the No. 49 Kaspersky Motorsport Ferrari 488 GT3 leads Am Cup after one hour.
