Laurens Vanthoor escaped serious injury following a high-speed and heavy accident in Saturday’s Blancpain Sprint Series Qualifying Race at Misano.
The Belgian collided with the No. 83 HTP Bentley Continental GT3 of Jules Szymkowiak, sending the No. 1 Audi R8 LMS ultra hard into the armco barriers.
Vanthoor is reported to have walked away with only a sprained ankle in the accident, although he and co-driver Robin Frijn’s weekend is over.
