Garage 59 has announced that it will return to the Blancpain GT Series in 2018 with a multi-car McLaren entry after skipping the full championship this season.
The team won the 2016 Blancpain GT Endurance Cup but focused its GT3 efforts on the International GT Open this year while Strakka Racing took over as the McLaren factory-supported team.
However, the Silverstone-based squad recently announced it will make the switch to Mercedes-AMG GT3 machinery in 2018.
Garage 59 did make brief appearances in the Blancpain GT Series this season with one car running at Silverstone and Spa, but will run multiple entries for the full series next year.
The team plans to campaign at least one car with a Pro-Am lineup alongside potentially multiple Pro class entries.
Garage 59 Confirms Increased GT4 Effort
Garage 59 is also set to continue running two McLaren 570S GT4s in the British GT Championship after finishing runner-up in the teams’ championship this year.
In addition to its confirmed British GT entry, the team could also enter the GT4 European Series.
A statement from the team revealed that entering the European series is “also under strong consideration.”
