Goodsmile Racing & Team Ukyo has announced it will take part in the Total 24 Hours of Spa in July, with Toyota LMP1 factory driver Kamui Kobayashi headlining the lineup in the team’s Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The Super GT300 squad selected the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup event to celebrate its 10th season in competition.

Kobayashi will be joined by the team’s Super GT regulars Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka in the one-off race.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement that SRO Motorsports Group and Super GT series organizer GT Association will join forces to hold the first joint GT3/GT300 ten-hour race at Suzuka in 2018.

The event, which replaces the Suzuka 1000km, has been linked to gaining Intercontinental GT Challenge status, alongside the existing events at Bathurst, Spa and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
