Twenty-two cars are listed on the provisional entry list for next weekend’s Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup round at Brands Hatch, again up two cars from the full-season grid.

ENTRY LIST: Brands Hatch

The grid size hasn’t changed since the Sprint Cup opener at Zolder earlier this month with two additional entries again present for the British round on May 5-6.

AKKA ASP will again bring its SMP Racing-backed No. 35 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Vladimir Atoev and Alexey Korneev after a promising debut appearance in Belgium.

It is currently unclear whether this car will be completing the Sprint Cup season in addition to the team’s three full-season Mercedes.

While the Boutsen Ginion Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX was the other additional entry at Zolder, this was unlikely to return for further events.

The grid remains at 22 cars thanks to Team Parker Racing’s second Bentley Continental GT3 driven by Ian Loggie and a currently to-be-announced driver.

Loggie and his British GT Championship co-driver Callum Macleod both tested in the pre-season test at Circuit Paul Ricard in March.

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT’s No. 3 Audi R8 LMS GT3 heads into the weekend with a TBC lineup again, after Alessio Picariello and Gilles Magnus were announced on the Thursday before Zolder.

Sportscar365 understands that WRT team manager Vincent Vosse is aiming to have the car present for the whole Sprint Cup season and that Picariello is in the running to return to the entry.

Dries Vanthoor will go to the Kent circuit as points leader after winning the Endurance Cup round at Monza last weekend, while Kelvin van der Linde and Steijn Schothorst lead the Sprint Cup standings.

Both 60-minute sprint races will take place on Sunday, May 6, with qualifying scheduled for the Saturday afternoon.
