Panis Racing will continue its Lexus GT3 program in the GT World Challenge powered by AWS this year under the Tech1 Racing banner, and has signed Thomas Neubauer as part of a full-season program.

The French team will run Neubauer alongside Aurelien Panis for the full season, including both the Endurance and Sprint Cups, while Timothe Buret will join as the third driver for the five Endurance races.

They will compete in the Silver Cup with the No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3.

Tech1 debuted the Lexus last year with Fabien Barthez among an Am lineup for the Endurance Cup but Barthez has since left the team, leading to its other programs being renamed Panis Racing from Panis-Barthez Competition.

It also ran a partial season effort in the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup last year, with Aurelien Panis and Jack Hawksworth taking part in the final three events.

This time, Panis, who recently won e-Trophee Andros, the French electric ice racing championship, will be joined by Neubauer at all ten rounds.

Neubauer burst onto the GT3 scene last year with AKKA ASP and won overall on his debut race at Brands Hatch in May.

“I’ve already shared two seasons in single-seater racing (in 2017 and 2018) with Tech1 and I’m looking forward to joining them again in this great project,” he said.

Panis, meanwhile, has been signed as an official driver for Lexus.

“I am very happy and proud to join Lexus in the GT World Challenge Europe with the status of official driver,” he said.

“Sharing this season with Thomas Neubauer and Timothe Buret, two fast drivers with a very good state of mind, is more than motivating!”
