GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS front-runner Team WRT has announced the driver lineups for its three-car programs in Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup this year.

The Belgian outfit will field two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evos in the Pro category of Endurance, plus another entry in the Silver class, as well as three Audis in the Sprint series.

Mirko Bortolotti, Kelvin van der Linde and Rolf Ineichen will co-drive the team’s No. 31 car in the long-distance races including the Total 24 Hours of Spa in October.

The No. 32 machine will be driven by Dries Vanthoor, Charles Weerts and Christopher Mies, while the Silver Cup entry is for Stuart Hall, Benjamin Goethe and Rik Breukers.

Bortolotti, who won the Endurance Cup title with Lamborghini in 2017, is set for his first turn in the series since becoming an Audi works driver, while Van der Linde will contest a full season with WRT for the first time having represented Attempto Racing the last two years.

In Sprint, Vanthoor and Weerts will share a car on a full-time basis after the pair achieved victory in a one-off appearance at Misano during the 2019 season.

Van der Linde will also compete in both GTWC Europe championships, sharing the No. 31 car in Sprint with Japanese Super GT competitor Ryuichiro Tomita.

The third car will be shared by brothers Jusuf and Hamza Owega, who finished third in ADAC GT4 Germany last year.

WRT has won the Sprint Cup overall teams’ title six times and was only beaten for the first time last year when Mercedes-AMG squad AKKA-ASP clinched the honors.

It has also won the Endurance Cup competition four times, as well as the GTWC Europe overall crown combining results from the two series in 2014 and 2015.

The upcoming Endurance season is due to start with the 3 Hours of Imola on July 25-26, while Sprint kicks off with three races at Misano on August 7-9.
