The Andretti Autosport McLaren 570S GT4 has lost its Am class win from today’s Pirelli GT4 America SprintX contest at Circuit of The Americas in a post-race technical infringement.

Jarett Andretti and Karl Thomson steered the No. 36 McLaren to first in Am and fourth overall on the team’s debut in the GT4 formula.

However, their McLaren GT4 was found to have been 73kg (161 pounds) underweight when checked during scrutineering, resulting in its disqualification.

The measure means Team Panoz Racing picks up the SprintX Am victory with its Avezzano GT driven by Preston Calvert and Matt Keegan.

It also means Rearden Racing is now the highest-placed Am finisher overall in fifth, although the team’s No. 91 Audi R8 LMS GT4 is scored differently because it competes in GT4 West.

Both the West and East regional championships of GT4 America are sharing the grid with the main SprintX competition this weekend.

Behind the Panoz, the No. 16 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4 is now classified second in SprintX Am, ahead of the No. 46 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport which moves into top-three in class.

Race 2 of the weekend gets underway at 10:15 a.m. CT on Sunday.
