Parker Chase will make his return to Pirelli GT4 America competition this weekend at Circuit of The Americas, having been confirmed in RENNtech Motorsports’ Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the GT4 East season-opening round.

The 18-year-old Texan, who claimed the Blancpain GT World Challenge America GT3 Pro-Am championship alongside Ryan Dalziel last year, will share driving duties of the Mercedes GT4 with longtime Mercedes-AMG driver Reinhold Renger.

The late deal comes in addition to Chase’s expected full-season effort in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with Starworks Motorsport.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to SRO America this weekend,” Chase said. “I got the call late Friday and the deal came together very quickly. I last raced in the GT4 class in 2017, and it’s been great to watch the competition in that series grow.

“RENNtech Motorsports has put a lot of effort into this first event, and I’m looking forward to working alongside with Reinhold to bring them some strong results.”

The Florida-based RENNtech team, which is confirmed for the full GT4 East season, returns to the site of its inaugural race, the 24 Hours of COTA, last year.

“We were looking for a strong silver to put in the Mercedes-AMG for this first event, and Parker Chase came highly recommended,” said team owner Hartmut Feyhl.

“Given his excellent record in the series and being a local to the circuit, he seemed like the natural choice for our first event of the year. We’re proud to have him on board and are excited to get this event started.”
