Michael Dinan will miss the next two Pirelli GT4 America events at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Sonoma Raeceway due to a broken shoulder from an accident in last month’s round at Virginia International Raceway.

The California-based team has revealed that the 20-year-old sustained a “shoulder fracture” from the accident with the No. 55 KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 of Rich Golinello in the first SprintX race of the weekend.

While Golinello was hospitalized with multiple undisclosed injuries, Dinan withdrew from the remainder of the weekend due to damage sustained to both of his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsports in separate incidents.

Additionally, he was placed on probation by SRO Motorsports America after being deemed responsible for the accident with Golinello, and could face a multi-event suspension for any further incident.

Dinan’s withdrawal means he will miss a total of eight races between Sprint and SprintX competition and will result in Flying Lizard not being present at CTMP altogether.

He is not slated to undergo surgery, according to the team, which says will require an eight-week recovery.

“Michael’s health and recovery is our top priority,” said program manager Darren Law.

“It’s certainly a disappointment to no longer be attending next week’s races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, but we’re hoping to be able to run with other customers at our home event of Sonoma Raceway.”
