SRO America has confirmed that its Touring Car Festival at Lime Rock Park has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Originally scheduled for May 8-9, the event featuring Pirelli GT4 America SprintX and TC America series will be rescheduled to a “future date” according to a statement from the circuit, which says series officials will announce the new date in the coming weeks.

“The Lime Rock Park staff continues to place a priority on the health and safety of our staff, fans, spectators and competitors,” a statement from the circuit read.

“We hope that you and your family remain safe and well during this COVID-19 crisis.”

Lime Rock had been the next SRO America event on the schedule that had not yet been postponed or canceled, after street races in St. Petersburg and Long Beach had been called off.

SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel told Sportscar365 on Friday that its May 15-17 event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, featuring GT World Challenge America powered by AWS,  looks “extremely unlikely” to happen.
